Promoting Affiliate EdgeAdvertising any product is an inexact science. There doesn't appear, to me, to be a right way or a wrong way of doing it. What I can outline here is what I have done to promote Affiliate Edge. It is helpful that Spillover works, and I believe the claim that anyone can make income from this program. However I am still skeptical that you could make a living by allowing someone else to promote for you, so you should always try and promote the program yourself. The most critical part of ANY promotion, is the headline you choose. In fact, as you will discover, I don't always change the ad! What I do is change the headline. What you have to remember is that you get a fleeting opportunity to get your ad read. If your are anything like me, you get to see hundreds of emails a day, and it has to be something special that catches my attention. The same must hold true for you, and for the programs you promote. If you don't catch your prospects attention with the headline, you might as well bin your offer, no matter how good it is. It won't get read. So, for Affiliate Edge, I have tested a number of ads. In some programs like Traffic Swarm, (you ARE using Traffic Swarm, aren't you?), do not allow large adverts. What I have done in this case, is taken part of the main ad, and used it to great effect in such places. Main Advert 1Re Affiliate EdgeHi, Just an update on Affiliate Edge.

The reason being that it is short, snappy and mentions the program name, but also the 'Re' part will encourage people to open it. There is no real trickery here, because the ad is about the program mentioned. I always try and add and AOL link to my adverts. If it is the spur to allow a few extra people to go to the site that I am promoting, then it doesn't hurt. I also make reference to this help site. The reason that I didn't put the url in there is twofold, 1. to see if it encourages members to sign up, and 2. because I hadn't at that time, written the page you are now reading :o) Main Advert 2Double your money back guarantee !!I also used the following headline Earn $500 a Month or Your Money BackHi,

I have just spent the evening with them, http://www.myprotracker.com/p.php?user=294&c=AE&sub=Herc Best wishes Charlie Note This is by and large the ad that was given to me when I signed up. This is often a good place to start, because if it encouraged you, then it should work for other people, right? It is a little bit hyped for my taste, but it did bring in some results Notice that I use 2 urls all the time. I embed one in HTML for AOL users. Anything which might get that extra click thru. Note the alignment. Try to keep the right hand margin short so that the whole advert can be read without having to scroll sideways. I cannot say that there is any hard and fast rule about this, but I tend to start going blank if I read large ads, and I must miss the point because of this. Everyone can use 600 phone/email leads & daily support for your HeadlinesAs I mentioned earlier, to my mind, the Headline is the most critical part of the whole marketing process. But it gets worse! If you look at your email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora or whatever), how much of the subject line to do ACTUALLY see? Not much is it? And not everyone might have as much to see as you have, so you might have less then you can see. And that is all you really have to work with your headline. Any more than that is wasted. Tip. So, the headline must be short! One trick that you can use in certain cases, and worked for me with Affiliate Edge, is to just use the name of the program as the headline. But there are some points to bear in mind. This is a good trick if the name is catchy. It probably wouldn't have worked so well if Affiliate Edge had been called 'Ed's Great Program'. It will only work in the first few month's of the program. Once it has becomes established and the name is known, then using the name of the program could work against you. Other headlines that I have used to great effect with Affiliate Edge are Incredible, 600 Business Leads for the Price of 300Incredible, Double Leads, for a Limited Time.Double your money back guarantee !!Affiliate EdgeRe Affiliate EdgeEarn $500 a Month GUARANTEED!!If you can embed the prospect's first name in the ad, then do it. Some Safelists allow this, and you should certainly have captured a first name in your own lists, so please make use of this information. Statistics tell us that personalising the headline increases your chances of success. |
