Getting Started with the SMass Safelist Submitter

If you haven't downloaded and installed the SMass Safelist Submitter, then you should do so now. It is not expensive, and in fact, it is so much cheaper then the Automatic Submitters (which charge up to nearly $30 EVERY month), that the SMass submitter is one of the biggest bargains in the Internet Marketing world.

It boasts many useful features, such as auto signups, multiple headlines and scheduling.

However, this tutorial is going to focus on setting up your safelists and setting up your adverts to run in your safelists, so that you can be up and running as soon as possible.

Adding a Safelist to the Submitter

Start the submitter, and you will see the following screen

Click on the 'Safelists' tab as indicated above and then click on then click on the 'Safelists Editor' menu item. This should bring up the following screen.

Tip

It is recommended that you always try and use the same username and password for all of your Safelists. This makes maintaining the lists much easier.

You will see that there are two fields at the top of the screen, 'Default Username' and 'Default Password'. Fill these in with your chosen username and password. Please ensure that your username is something that is unique and easily remembered by yourself.

Tip

There is a <Category> button to the right of the Safelist Editor screen. You must be on a folder in the 'Safelists' window to use this. If you are not, the button will not be accessible.

1.	Click on the <Category> button.
2.	Type in a name for the Category (the name of the group of safelists, Pearls of Wealth for example).
3.	Click on the <OK> button.
4.	Your category will then appear in the Safelists window.

This will make managing your safelists much easier.

Once you have created a category, you can add a safelist to the database. You can either click on your Category (if that is where you want the new safelist to be added) or you can click on the default category (called 'Safelists'). To add a safelist

1.	Click on the <Insert> button. This will start a Wizard which will guide you through the rest of the process.
2.	Type in or copy and paste the url of the safelist to be added into the box provided, and click on the <Go> button.
3.	You will be asked to confirm if this is the page where you sign into the database. If you typed in the correct url, then it should be. If it isn't, click on the <No> button and navigate to the correct page. The submitter will remember. If everything is ok, then click on the <Yes> button.
4.	You will be asked to enter and confirm your username and password. All you have to do is click on the field on the Safelist page, and SMass will put your default in formation into the box.
5.	Confirm that the information is correct.
6.	Follow the same procedure for the password.
7.	Follow the same procedure for the login button.
8.	You will then be asked if the page that you have been taken to is the page from where you will send your advert. It is unlikely that this is the right page, because the link to send your ads is usually elsewhere on the Safelist site. If that is the case, click on the <No> button.
9.	Navigate to the correct page to send your advert, and click on the link on the Safelist page.
10.	Confirm that you are on the correct page.
11.	You will be asked to locate and click on the field for the Subject for your message. DO NOT PRESS THE <Tab> key!. Click on the field and the submitter will enter some text to test the field.
12.	Confirm the entry.
13.	You will then be asked to find the message body field. Again, click on the field, and confirm the entry.
14.	You will then be asked to locate and click on the submission button. This is any button in the particular Safelist which could be used for sending the advert. Once you have clicked on it, SMass will present you with the following dialog.
15.	You will then be asked to enter a meaningful name for filing purposes. This is the name that you will see on your list of Safelist entries, so make sure that you use a name that you will recognise. When you are happy, click on the <OK> button.

That's it, you are done.

Tip

Click on the <Backup> button, and save your database at regular intervals.
